About David

David
David’s form of CP, spastic quadriplegia, is one of the most severe forms. He takes six medications for his CP and related problems, including seizure disorder; he receives Botox injections into ten muscle sites every three months, which is effective for only up to eight weeks in David; he has had orthopaedic surgery that was ineffective; he wears braces and splints; he participates in conventional and alternative forms of therapy; and he is a potential candidate for the baclofen pump which carries risks of overdose, meningitis, and other complications that may require repeated hospitalization, and since it has been used for CP for only several years, long term consequences are not known.

All of that aside…

David is one of the most beautiful, loving individuals you can meet. In general, David is a very happy child who sometimes gets frustrated and rightfully so. He has a brilliant mind with a body that does not respond accordingly. He has the best personality, smile and laugh. He is a communicator and very social–he really wants to connect with people, especially other children. Most of all, David wants to run, he wants to talk, and he wants to play.
